The Newfoundland instinctively possesses strong natural abilities for water rescue. Throughout history heroic Newfoundlands have saved countless human lives through their feats of bravery in the water. The Newfoundland Club of America’s water rescue test was created to promote and encourage the innate rescue skills of the breed.
Newfoundland Club of Seattle has hosted an annual Water Rescue Test since 1975 under the sanction of our parent club, the Newfoundland Club of America. The Newfoundland Club of America Water Test Titles are a series of exercises designed to develop and demonstrate the abilities of purebred Newfoundland dogs in the water.
