The focus of this seminar is for people and Newfoundland Dogs who are new to Water Work.  Initial Water Work training begins on land with a focus on foundation behaviors.  We will discuss the transition from land to water.  We will work on multiple activities that develop a strong foundation for success.

You will not need any equipment for the seminar, but we will review what equipment is needed.

What to bring:

Your dog

LOTS of high value treats.  Keeping the size of the individual treats small is recommended as you will be giving a lot.

Water for your dog

A crate for you dog to settle in.  This is essential as there are times you will be helping others or your dog is tired.  Your dog needs a safe place while you are not working with him/her.

Optional: - a long line (25' or longer leash) or any water work gear you may have: bumper, life jacket for retrieving, knotted rope, etc.
